MEMBERSHIP

As long as you choose to book a bed at a hostel that is listed on RoomBerl, you can join the platform. All of RoomBerl’s features that have been chosen by the hostel where you intend to live will be available to you. The availability of specific features varies based on the package and choices that your hostel has made.

CONTENT & PROHIBITED USE

RoomBerl provides you with a way to connect with other users living in the same hostel as you. You shall not use the RoomBerl system to:

  1. promote hateful activities;
  2. violate the Constitution of Ghana, 1992, any Act of Parliament, Executive Instrument, Legislative instrument, or any other National and International Law;
  3. post, upload, or otherwise transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libellous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable;
  4. violate the privacy of individuals;
  5. post content containing viruses, trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancelbots, disabling devices or other harmful components intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information;
  6. encourage any illegal activity;

RoomBerl reserves the right to decide whether or not you have complied with these terms at its sole discretion. If it is found that you are in violation of these rules, RoomBerl reserves the right to either cancel your membership or remove the offending content.

At RoomBerl’s exclusive discretion, anyone who posts remarks of a rival company may be removed from the platform.

RoomBerl reserves the right, at any moment, to reveal any information deemed necessary to abide by any applicable laws, rules, court orders, or official requests.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

By using RoomBerl, you consent to RoomBerl displaying any information you provide the system to other users on the platform for the purpose of choosing roommates and any other reason RoomBerl deems necessary.

RoomBerl and your hostel or university hall are discharged from all legal and equitable liabilities resulting from or pertaining to any known or unknown physical harm, death, harassment, and/or property damage caused by the actions or inactions of any roommate you may choose. Also, RoomBerl is discharged from any legal or equitable liability resulting from the use of the RoomBerl system.

The purpose of roommate assignments is to make your stay more convenient. Your hostel or university hall does not take responsibility for any claims arising from roommate arrangements. Unless otherwise stated, your hostel or university hall does not make any representations, guarantees, or warranties of any kind with relation to the roommate assignment procedure or any specific individual who is assigned as your roommate. 

RoomBerl does not verify any information or factual assertions made by RoomBerl users about themselves. You hereby release and waive RoomBerl and your hostel or university hall from any and all claims relating to the roommate assignment procedure and/or the behaviour of any roommates assigned to your room or apartment. You voluntarily undertake any risk associated with the roommate assignment process.

Pursuant to Article 17 of the Constitution of Ghana , 1992,  the roommate assignment process on RoomBerl shall not be based on race, colour, religion, disability, or familial status.

You give permission for this information to be shared with prospective roommates in order to arrange for the moving-in and roommate-matching process.

 

YOUR REPRESENTATIONS

You represent and warrant that:

  1. You have obtained all required consents from third parties in order to enter into these Terms of Use, or you have all necessary rights and powers to do so;

  2. All of the factual assertions you have made and will continue to make to RoomBerl are accurate and comprehensive.

  3. You are able to enter into legally binding agreements, have the full and complete authority to consent to the Terms of Use, and are of majority age or have acquired parental consent.

CHANGES TO THE PLATFORM

The services on the platforms may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time by RoomBerl. This includes the availability of any features, databases, or content. Whenever there are modifications to the services, RoomBerl will make an effort to give reasonable notice. 
Additionally, RoomBerl reserves the right to limit features or deny access to specific areas of the website.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

RoomBerl may at any time amend these terms and conditions by posting the amended terms on the Website.

For the avoidance of doubt, the new terms shall be effective immediately as soon as they are posted.

 We therefore encourage you to check this page regularly and frequently.

LEGAL JURISDICTION

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
